The Ghost came through......and his name is Edward

Excuse me while I loosen my pants so I can sit down and type. A long weekend around family, friends and food is just asking for trouble. Thankfully I was able to run while we were away, it got to the point where I was just trying to break even calorie wise. And, we had quite the reading with a medium, which I'll get to in a minute.

Confession time. I'll say right off the bat, I was bad about keeping my food journal, but I was good about not picking at what the kids had leftover on their plates. I just sucked it up and tossed their plates into the garbage. But the food kept showing up, like when we stopped at a bakery with my Mom on the way home from a museum (ate a bit of a cookie). When my sister and brother were over with their families, the easiest choice for dinner for the large group was pizza (I ate a veggie slice....AND a Sicilian slice....AND half a regular slice). We went to brunch after one of my BFF's had her baby baptized.....all I can say it's a good thing I was able to go on a six mile run down to the beach after (I thought of taking my camera, because it was a beautiful day, but didn't have anywhere to carry it. So I'll make due with this photo of Luke at the same beach last spring). We also paid a visit to my sister A's cute new apartment in my old neighborhood in Astoria.

After freezing in windy Astoria Park flying kites, playing in the playground, and walking past the track where I used to run, we had lunch. Where we discovered Eliza loves lamb gyros, and the spinach pie is as kick ass as I remember. Wine was a staple throughout the weekend, and on a sunny Sunday afternoon, Mike mixed up some Margaritas. It was that kind of an afternoon.

While we were there my Mom gave me her 33 year old Le Creuset pot.

Now onto our reading. As I've written before, I grew up in a house with ghosts. As soon as M the medium came in and sat down with us, she said the house has a very good energy, that there is nothing dark about it. She saw a man who was pacing the floor next to her, she described him the same way we have all seen him, with a long dark coat, and a hat. His name is Edward, and he was showing her candles, which made us laugh, because he has made himself known by blowing out candles in the backyard (when there is no wind to speak of). M thinks he died in the house after falling down the stairs, and asked if we hear him pacing in the hallway, which we have. She also talked about the woman who hangs out in the house, and asked if we ever smelled lilacs, because that is her. At first she mentioned a little girl spirit, but it's actually a little boy (the one Luke spoke to). M thought he was a girl at first, because he's a very sensitive spirit. M then pointed towards the back of our house, and asked if we see him in a bedroom upstairs.......Bingo.

I don't blame you if you think I'm completely full of it, and so is M, but I believed her. It was crazy. A few people who have passed over came through to talk to us, and she said things that I don't know how she would know unless we told her. L&E were both asleep before she got there, and she described the two of them to a T.
My sister in law has been calling me every day to talk about it, because she can't get over it.

All I can say that I came away from the reading with an immense feeling of calm.

And of peace.

I LOVE you Ghost stories... Poor Edward needs someone to help him cross over...

I have been STARVING and eating everything is sight. I had hoped to shed some weight before Marathon day with 12 days doubt that will happen

Did you ask her who the man in black and jacob are? That would have been my first question .... lol.

I grew up in Western PA and the 1st house we lived in was over 100 years old and my younger sister and I used to see an old woman ghost all the time. IT never tried to scare us so we were cool. My parents still won't talk about it to this day!

Sounds like a great trip.
I think that if the reading made you feel better that's what matters (I don't know what side of the fence I fall on but I definitely don't discount anything :)).
Looks like a beautiful beach to be able to run to :)!

Ok, I get so creeped out by the ghost stuff. Sorry, but if someone (or something) from beyond came anywhere near me, sianara sister! LOL! I don't know about mediums-a part of me believes and a part doesn't...

That Le Creuset is a MAJOR score - even at 33 years old! Whoohooo!

That's funny about the spirit and the candles!

Hi Molly,
It sounds like you had a great trip:) I smiled when you mentioned going to your old track:)

I absolutely do not think that you are full of it! I love stuff like this....I love that you guys actually had a M come out and do a reading!! This is so fascinating to me! You and your family must have complete open minds because I hear that spirits will only show themselves with people that they feel safe with:) Good to have you back Molly!

As for the ghosts....I'm a believer and got goosebumps reading your post. Very interesting story. thanks for sharing.

I guess if you were used to feeling the spirit, I can see how it wouldn't be scary. To an outsider though...it's kinda freaky!!!

I LOVE that Le Creuset pot. So lucky you are!

wow!nah, i have told ya I have had experiences too so don;t think you are nuts at all. did she say anything about the wine? is there any way to check the history of the house to see if anyone died from a fall down stairs? (when was the house built?) I believe an elderly lady died here at our new house a few years ago, but I don't think I feel her here (or maybe I just don;t wanna!)
I relate to the decadent weekend, sounds fun! At least you still got to run. I have NO self control when pizza is involved.
later! :)

While I think the reading was great, I am with the others on the score on the Le Creuset. I would love one - old or not.

Sounds like you had a great trip!

Very nice Le Creuset--love the color. Hmmm.. interesting on the ghost! I think it would be hard NOT to get caught up in it.

Your first sentence CRACKED me up. I am going to keep working on not picking at food and just having meals too.

I love the idea of having good spirits around!!

I don't think you're full of it at all! I'm just happy to hear that the energy isn't dark and that the spirits mean you no harm. What an exciting and interesting experience!

I spent the weekend with my family too and there was much food involved ... there always is. LOL

Love that Le Creuset pot, such a pretty yellow and so nice to have it passed down to you. :)

Are you sure that there wasn't just an overabundance of wine flowing during that reading? I'm kidding. This totally freaks me out! I've been following your ghost story for awhile now and I find it awesome that you had someone come in and give a reading. Way cool.

Maybe now that you put a name to the ghosts you (we) won't be as scared of them!

Very, very cool. Our ghost just made mischief. Maybe Edward could slap him around a bit.
