Mike is in the process of quitting smoking. He has now turned into who I like to call, Mean Mike. I feel bad for him, I really do, I know quitting is a very hard thing to do. I've never smoked, well, I tried to on two separate occasions. Once I lit up in a bar in college, and smoker friends kept coming up to me and taking the cigarette out of my hand. The other time I was at the restaurant I waited tables at, and everyone kept laughing at me, so I gave up.
My hip has been bugging me since Sunday, the day after my 5.5 mile hilly run. I blame the hula hoop exercise on Wii Fit, and low rise jeans. It's a bit frustrating, I feel like when one part of my body is back to normal, another decides to act up. I'm going to have to invest in more ice packs, because after a run, I sit on one to ice my left hamstring, rest my left foot on another to ice my arch, then hold one on my left ankle, which acts up once in a while because I broke it twice. I'm going to have to duct tape one to my hip in an effort to save icing time!
I haven't been experimenting much in the kitchen lately, after the week of spring like weather we had I decided to clear out the freezer. So we've had chili, vegetable ziti, mac and cheese with roasted tomatoes, and tomorrow is Healthy Helper. I'm not inspired at all. Now that it's Lent, for some reason I get all bugged out about not eating meat on Friday. We eat meat free meals all the time, but on Friday mornings I call Mike, all frantic about what we're going to make. Actually, I made it hard on myself this year by giving up salsa, I really miss salmon tacos.
Do you ever look at the clock and it reads 11:11? This has been happening to me a lot lately. I've heard this means that angels are looking out for you. I've been thinking more of having a friend who is a psychic do a reading with me, I'm just really curious about what would happen. Ideally I would have it done at my Mom's (haunted) house before she sells it, btw, if you've read my posts about her house, I have a new story. My Mom bought a bottle of wine, poured a glass, then put the cork back in. She was sitting in the living room, and heard a POP. Went back in to see the cork on the counter. She put it back in, sat down, then heard a POP again. The cork was out. She's definitely got a real life Paranormal Activity thing going on there.
I was just going through photos, and I am horribly behind printing them out and putting them into albums. Like two years behind. I would rather drop the hundred bucks on something fun, like the Time Warner bill. But the one above was from a recent St. Patrick's Day party and my eyes are open, so it's a keeper. You can't even see my roots, which I am thankfully getting done on Thursday.

I'm the WORST about getting pictures printed.
I don't even print photos anymore. But both of my kids (9 and 2) look at our wedding album ALL THE TIME. It is kind of funny.
I had a bad recipe night over the weekend and that is depressing. Teriyaki Tuna on the grill. I over marinated the meat so that it was dark and salty, and then over cooked it. Notice I did not blog about that failure. I just don't cook fish well on the grill. A summer goal for me to learn.
I cannot remember the last time I printed a picture. They are all in cyberland :) I would never want to visit the haunted house! Too freaky for me :-) Have a great night!!
I print mine in mass quantities, which costs a fortune! But really, I have started making photobooks on shutterfly (although, all the websites have them) and that way I don't have to print the pictures, I don't have to make a scrapbook but I still get to have the memories organized. I'm a little behind on that too, but whatever. :)
As for your nagging injuries...you need a foam roller or triggerpoint therapy stuff if you don't already have it. Injury prevention at its finest.
goosebumps again about the ghost story.....!!!!
Honest to God, the hula hoop game on Wii is insane and I totally hurt my back playing it because I was whipping myself all over the place. I haven't played it since!
I know what you mean about one thing healing and then another acting up. Dealing with that too right now. So frustrating!
Pictures: I love them, but they're all on my computer. I feel like the printing services for digital pics just aren't as good as they were for film, unless you spend lots of $.
I currently have forearm strain compliments of the Wii. I used to be good about pic mgmt but I've fallen off that wagon.
Hi Molly,
Funny about the wii hula hoop mishap:) I could see myself getting an injury from doing that.
I had not heard about the clock reading 11:11 before. Good to know:) I am totally all into the psychic (broom ha) as my hubby calls it:) I have a ton of Sylvia Brown and John Edwards books! I am fascinated by the paranormal things that happen:) Anyhow, nice random post!!
**warning: commentjack upcoming **
Molly - I saw your comment on Mark's blog about Lost!! I am annoyed too ... But for some reason I cannot wait to watch it in 31 minutes from now! We'll have to chat more about this .. all my friends and wife bailed on Lost and I need a support group to speak with this about!
Loved all the randomness! Good for Mike - gooooo mike! C an't believe you gave up Salsa though - ummmm . . . a tough one!
Kristin
That is a great picture! If I had a ghost it would probable be a drinker too ;). Sorry about mean mike. I know what he's going through, nut if he sticks with it it'll all be worth it!
Btw,we use ace bandages to keep areas iced while milling around the house or wven when just sitting on the couch. Much better than duct tape ;)
I never heard that about 11:11. That is so cool!
If it makes you feel any better, I am about 6 years behind on my photos.
You minus salsa = cranky Molly?
WHAT about the wine?! haha mom tells me nothing....
my bedroom door opened twice last night after i shut it. thought the ghost had followed me but then i realized it was just the wind!
I do the 11:11 thing too and have heard the same thing.
Wow about your mom's cork! I must say I believe in that stuff (and told a few "ghost stories" in my book! You should get a reading! Though noone has 100% batting average, it is definitely interesting!
Best of luck to Mike with quitting. I smoked in college so I know it is tough. But after three days the physical detox is all done, then it is just mental (at least that is what I have heard)
1:11 is the number for me. I see it all the time, especially on mile markers on the highways. I can drive 500 miles and 111 is the only one that I notice.
Thank you for the comment on my blog.
First of all, this is my first time here and I LOVE your header pic!
I quit smoking in December and my husband moved out and stayed with a friend for two weeks. It really did save our marriage because I was BEYOND crazy and mean.
And I am going to have to check out this hula hoop thing! Remember when hula hooping used to be easy?
I made that Healthy Helper with my fake meat crumbles and it was SOOOOO good! Thanks for the recipe!
Good luck to your hubbie on his non smoking journey. I've never smoked, but I know people who are trying to quit and it seems like a battle.
