I started out wearing Saucony's for running, and stuck with them for several years, until my first visit to Fleet Feet, where I got the full treatment and realized that I was an over-pronator and wearing the wrong shoe. So I switched to Nike....for 500 miles worth of runs, then quickly switched to Brooks. I've been happy with them for the past few years, but I've still been curious about other shoes.
So it was very timely that I received an invitation from Mizuno, to become a founding member of their Mezamashii Run Project! Mizuno believes their shoes create a more euphoric running experience and they're willing to put free shoes on feet to prove it. In essence, they want runners to have more "brilliant" runs (hence the name, Mezamashii, which means brilliant in Japanese).
Before I contacted Mizuno about which shoes would be right for me, I went to their website, and used Precision Fit which asked a series of questions about my feet, my body, etc. It suggested the Wave Inspire for my size 11 feet:
Which was confirmed when I spoke to a Mizuno rep when I called to order the shoes. He seemed to know his stuff.
This might sound silly, but my shoe laces have always been white, and it took some time to get used at all that blue every time I looked down! I noticed right away that the Wave Inspire were lighter than my usual shoe, and they felt like they were hugging my feet from every angle. My feet felt great while I was out with my running buddy, Frank the Tank, in his Fourth of July Finery:
As a chosen member of the Mezamashii Run Project, I have one invitation to share with one of you. If you would like to go on a brilliant run while wearing a pair of Mizuno's, please leave me a comment, telling me what made your last run truly brilliant!
For additional entries you may:
1. share with me @MollySBaker and @MizunoUSA in a tweet, about why you would like to try a pair of Mizuno's.
2. follow me on twitter, or be a friend of my blog.
This giveaway will be quick, I will choose a winner using random.org on Tuesday July 10th, at 5:00 EST.
*Contest is open to residents of the USA.
*Please note, I was sent a pair of shoes for the purpose of this review, my opinions on the product are my own.
GOOD LUCK!

Well my last run was actually today, and it was my first time going 6 miles! I struggle with my weight, and so being able to run again after 25+ years has been a real plus for me! Todays run was brilliant, fun, and hard work all rolled into one!

Tweeted to Mizuno too! Love the blue laces!

I had a 1:02 per mile PR on my last run (5K race) so that's pretty brilliant right???
My last run was brilliant because it was my first run with the Pace Setters of the area. I have never done a group run before and it was fun!
Follow you in GFC :)
It was brilliant because I was feeling really healthy and I was in a good mindset...felt calm and strong and steady-ready for anything life could pitch my way. Totally centered and zenned out. :)

My last brilliant run was in July of 2008. I had just come back from a 3 week wildfire assignment in Oregon, and since I'm a flat-lander, it was AWESOME training to run @ altitude. I bested my fire crew buddies on all of our training runs for about a week! And, I had my personal best times for short runs. It was brilliant.

The Facebook Button didn't work for me, and neither did searching for a page, so I followed you on Pinterest as Amanda jones. :) I hope that works.
My last run was brilliant because I actually finished. Ten miles on vacation after too much restaurant food with a stitch in my side in steaming heat. In retrospect, I should have bailed and waited a day, but I'm too stubborn for that.
Hmmm, my last brilliant run? I'm not sure I can think of one that screams "brilliant", but I did feel amazing finishing out my last 7-miler, after having run 10 earlier in the day.
I follow your blog (Google Reader).
My last run was truly a Brilliant Run because I was able to push my 3yr old son up a looooong fairly steep hill in the stroller. Something I was not able to do the day before. I was so proud that I actually stopped, took a picture and tweeted it, which is not something I typically do. I hate stopping or being interrupted during my runs but I was very proud of my self that day.
Thanks for the opportunity to win a pair of Mizuno running shoes.

My last run was brilliant, because it happened! I woke up this morning, not feeling like running the 6 miles I had planned. I decided to run to the gym (3 miles round trip), then do three on the gym's elliptical. I had my membership card in my pocket. When I reached the gym, I felt so good running, that I didn't stop...I just kept on going! Got my six miles in on the road (none on the elliptical)! I felt awesome afterwards!

Oh...my last truly brilliant run was last weekend when I did the Leadville Heavy Half Marathon. Super tough race, but I finished, which was pretty damn brilliant given I was in no shape to run it :).
I don't Twitter :(.
My last run was with my sexy man so those are always brilliant :)
I would actually like to win and have Jupiter try out a pair of the more minimal Mizunos. The wave universe I think

I have big dogs too!!! Size 11s here!
My last run was brilliant because I finished in high temps and humidity, long run. Alas, my beloved asics are killing my foot; time to switch shoes? Looking for the right shoe...

My last brilliant run was actually this morning - I was out very early so the streets were quiet, it was cooler than it's been in weeks and I just fell into a nice groove that felt like it could on forever - it's been a while since I had one of those kind of runs!
Trail running always makes a run brilliant!

I just had a brilliant run today actually!! First sub 90 degree in awhile out here in the Baltimore area, and it felt amazing! I felt like i could have run forever - but had to cut it short for dinner. Left me feeling sweaty but refreshed!! :)

My brilliant run was the day I finally ran two miles without stopping. Now, I'm up to 10 miles, no stops, and training for my first marathon in Oct. 2012.
I have also followed you on twitter (@kyliebrynne)
I had a wonderful run last week. It's been really hot but I woke up early and took my dog out for a morning run. The weather was cooler and the streets were quiet. I could hear my breath and watch the leaves and grass as my dog sniffed during her potty breaks :) It made me appreciate having a strong body that can walk, run, and play outside!
Today was my first day of training for the 2012 NYC Marathon. I ran this morning and finished with a smile on my face. I worked so hard last year to get an entry to this race and it will all come together so soon! I believe each run during the training cycle, easy, awful, forced, happy, fast and slow will be brilliant because it is toward this goal I have been working toward and wanting for so long!!

I follow your blog. My last run was brilliant because it was after a swim and a bike and still was only a min and some change off my 5K PR!
