Well something's working

I tried on my skinny jeans the other night. And they fit! Not that I would wear them out of the house yet, but I could button them closed. whoohoo! I'm going to the Kelly Clarkson concert tonight (feeding my inner 14 year old) and I'm happy with my outfit, a favorite top paired with jeans in my "fat" size. They're roomy, which is a million times better than a night of misery in too tight jeans.

So now I'm trying to figure out how I did it. I have been running regularly, and upping my intake of fruits and veggies. The morning smoothie is now a habit, it's truly refreshing, and I get excited over how many servings of the good stuff I'm getting. I've been throwing chia seeds in the shake too, they're the "new" flax seed, and they help keep you feeling full. I usually just have the shake, and then suddenly, it's lunchtime. Believe me, I'm definitely still indulging in things, which makes me think the weight would come off quicker if I just gave them up. Baby steps.

On a side note, I've been reading a bunch of chick lit lately. But hey, it's summer. I did read "Peace Like a River" by Leif Enger, which is what I chose for my book club for September. Great book, I cried at the end, which is rare for me. I've got a few waiting for me at the library, I'm trying to cut back on my Barnes & Noble shopping. I love having a stack of books just waiting for me to dive into. I just don't know which to read first!

This photo is old, but I really like it. I look happy, because I am.

Good for you! Although, between this post and the one about how your clothes are for a skinny person, I may have to stop reading your blog soon. You'd think that instead I would be motivated to do a little exercise myself, but that doesn't seem to be the case. :)

P.S. Come by my blog, I gave you an award!

I tried your Green Superfood in my smoothie this morning...not bad, I say!! It was definitely a little green-tasting, but after the first few sips I was actually liking it! Of course, I also had a slice of zucchini bread to go with it!!!

You go girl!! Skinny jeans...I wish. I'm getting there and gonna start working on it soon. Have fun at the concert--I wish I were feeding my inner 14 year old as well!

Good for you! But, please share more, HOW DID YOU DO IT??? For real! It has to do with the running I'm sure. This just solidifies the fact that I need to get my butt on that treadmill!

Thanks for commenting on my blog! You seem to be a bookworm like me! My nightstand has a constant stack of books that I am in the middle of reading. I just went to B&N today and spent way too much money. I can't help it. I also have chocolate EVERYDAY in ice cream form. And if I drink wine, it is white.

I had my son a year ago and I am just now beginning to fit into some of my old pants. Some of them, I think I might never get into again, but that's okay! It sounds like you are doing great!

I am now following you! Keep us the great blogs!

Congrats to you for getting into those skinny jeans! I was starting to get into mine and have been slacking lately. I really need to get off of my butt and get back into a workout or diet or something...but oh how I love food! :)
