I'm also out of my food rut, I was making the same things over and over. I read about a cookbook called Cooking Up A Storm, that was published after Hurricane Katrina. So many people lost family recipes in the flooding, that the local newspaper asked readers to send in their favorite recipes, so that everyone could have them again. I bought the cookbook for Mike for his birthday,
and for dinner this week, we had the Spicy Cajun Shrimp:
We only used half of the cayenne, but it was still pretty spicy. I prefer brown rice, but we went with white to stay true to the recipe, and it was Kill-er!!!
Speaking of food, my Dad is coming up from Maryland today for the weekend, and he's bringing us a mess of crabs, hopefully I'll remember to take a few photos while we're scarfing them down.
It's Friday again, time for winner #4 of my fundraising giveaway for The Children's Tumor Foundation, using random.org, it's Colleen from Irondiva! Congrats, and let me know which TWO prizes you would like, the necklace, socks, sweaty band, and towels are available.
Have a happy weekend : )
