Well ,Week One went by fast....only 10 more to go : )
I made a few changes last week. One, to keep a food diary, two, stay away from chocolate, and three, stop the mindless picking at everyone's plates.
So how did I do? I lost one pound.
I'm good with this. I didn't change my diet much, I ate my fruit and vegetables, and three of the days I refrained from meat. It's not unusual for me to have meat free days, but two of these days were for Lent. We're good about not automatically ordering pizza on Fridays during this time, we had salmon burgers one night, tilapia another, and blackened salmon another. When we make choices like that, I feel free to enjoy meat when I do eat it, like on Saturday. We went to an Irish bar/restaurant for lunch after the parade, and I had an open faced reuben (I was surprised it wasn't giant sized, it was a perfect portion)...AND beer.
I'm keeping these changes in place for week #2, and I'm going to add a fitness goal. I despise planks, I know they're a really effective core exercise, but I'm more of a crunch girl. So, along with my daily stretching, I'm adding daily planks. Ouch.
Okay, for those of you participating in this challenge.....how did you do??? Let me know what change you made during Week 1, and what your goal is for Week 2.
I'll leave you with a little weight loss factoid:
I read once in Glamour magazine, that the best time to weigh yourself, to find your true weight, is first thing in the morning, after you use the bathroom, and before you eat or drink anything. So that's when I do it.
Have a great week!

I weigh in on Fridays for WW and I lost 3.4 pounds last week. I was totally surprised. Way to go on a great week.
Sounds like you're on track, Yay for losing 1 pound!!
Congrats on the weight loss
So Wednesdays are weigh in days, got it, I was wondering this last night
I lost 2.2 pounds
Changes I made, made sure I had protien for breakfast, veggie style lunch, controlled dinner portions. I might have done better, but the weekend I ate like I trained big but didnt train big at all.
Slow and steady, 1 lb is awesome :).
I forgot to weigh in today... Oops!
This week I'm focused on adding more water. I'm awful about hydrating, and that's gotta change! Water water water.
Planks are my nemesis. I've incorporated them into my Suck Less Program (pushups, crunches, and squats), and man. Awful.
Congrats on losing one pound! I totally forgot about meat on Friday last week for Lent!! I always weigh myself in the morning because I am always lighter then! Makes me feel better!
To stay away from the chocolate (and pepsi) is a torture!
Congrats on losing that pound.
Woot for one pound!
I'm kind of sneaking in here late as I didn't really officially start until Monday so I'll weigh in next week.
Yay for you!!! I weigh in the same way. Doesn't count unless I went to the washroom!
Great job!
don't forget naked with dry hair....don't want wet hair to add on the pounds!
Such a commitment to write in the journal! Great job getting your salmon fix in week one!!
Good job on the pound! Chocolate (and wine:)) would be tough for me to give up!
YAY!! Slow but steady will get the job done!
That's exactly when I weight myself. Same day of the week, first thing in the morning, right after I pee. Every Friday.
Congrats on the one pound!! Slow and steady :)
You are doing great. Keep it going. I only weigh myself in the morning, potty than weigh.
great job. I am right along with you keeping a food diary right now. I also weigh myself frist thing in the morning, in the same order your magazine directed.
One pound in one week is perfect...the road to healthy, permanent weight loss! Good job.
Good job. I was doing so well but have slipped lately. Please inspire me! Keep it up.
Great job on the weight loss! You gave up wine *and* chocolate. Wow! It's one or the other here. :D
Congratulations on the one pound, girl! Whee!
lol....I ONLY weight myself once a week in the morning (lately not for a while, but when I am into it, on Mondays). AFTER my morning poop. NEVER BEFORE!
One pound is awesome. Since you don't really need to loose weight as far as I can see, I impressed by that. One pound a week is great.
Awesome job! Me, not so much. I am having a hard time with the eating for some reason (Jeff forcing me to go to Coldstone for example) Week 2 I am going to go back to writing down what I eat, and eliminate unnecessary calories (ie, wine) from my nutrition.
I always weigh myself first thing in the morning too. Checking your weight after a big meal is never a good idea! Way to go on the diet changes!
Congrats Molly! :)
i am going to post on this soon...but I had been recording my food for a long time and htinking what the heck. so this week i started using my kitchen scale and THAT made me stop the snacking, cause I had to weigh it all and realized I wasn't really accounting for all those nibbles
Hey, one pound is four sticks of butter- that's terrific!!
