It's a bummer when you can't trust the postal system.

My brain is a bit foggy today.

Probably because of the fact that E was up last night at 3:00 a.m with a stomach bug....which caused a problem with the upstairs toilet....which ended up flooding the bathroom with over an inch of water....which ended up leaking through the floor....and into the kitchen via the lights above the cabinets....which caused Frank to bark while I ran around looking for a plunger.

Did I mention it was 3:00 a.m.?

Anyway.  Coffee is helping.

What a way to end the weekend.  On Saturday we took the kids to the St. Patrick's Day parade, then out to lunch to continue the fun.  Once we got home I checked the mailbox, and was happy to see that I had mail from two blog friends (or, as I've read, blends).  One was a bumper sticker from Julie, the Hotlegs Runner, which read "I Love Running."  Thanks Julie!

The other was a padded envelope that Stefano, The Black Knight, sent to me from Venice.  I opened it up, read his kind note, and looked in the envelope.  I then shook the envelope, then looked again.  Niente. Nothing.  I was so disappointed, someone got into the envelope, probably in customs, and took what was inside.  But I'm a firm believer in "what goes around comes around", so all I can do is feel bad for the rotten thief.

On a good note, I picked the two winners of the Sony Walkman's, thanks to everyone who entered.  I used random.org to choose the winners, and they are:

#60 is Ryan from An Amalgamation of Minor Adjustments....

#145 is Sheridan Lee at Running Through Life.

Congrats to you both, send me an email with your mailing info, and I'll get you set up!

Ooph, what a night! But yay for random things in the mail. Nothing better than finding fun presents via "snail mail."

(hugs) for you . . .what a hectic 3:00 a.m. Hope E is feeling better, Frank has calmed down, and the damage has been fixed - though, it's never that quick or easy!

So what was supposed to be in the envelope? My husband decided to send me a chocolate bunny for Easter (was a boyfriend at the time)through the MAIL! The only thing that arrived was an Easter card with a mysterious brown stain on one side... LOL!

That sucks about your gift being taken. But, yeah, customs is the only place that opens that stuff, and they're completely separate and apart from the Postal system. In my Postal experience, on the whole we Postals are the most honest group of people you could ever know! Besides runners, of course.

Wow, what a brutal morning! I thought our adventure last week waking up at 12:30am with a leaky ceiling in the middle of a massive rainstorm was not fun. I hope you're feeling much better now!

Crummy about the package too. I just don't understand stuff like that. But, you're right, they'll meet karma one day!

oh bummer about the envelope being empty! I would have been so ticked off.
That is one serious bathroom accident and jeesh why at 3 in the morning?? Sending good vibes your way that luck will turn for you :)

One post late, but congrats on that full night's sleep, quickly eroded by your crazy little morning today.
Now, given the title of this post, and your personal experience, don't ya think it's funny you're just mailing out the Sony's? Why not FedEx? Teach USPS a lesson.

Damn customs.

Sorry to hear your little one was up sick. Whenever someone in my house gets the stomach bug, I disappear for days.

I can't believe someone took the contents of your package! That's not nice! So sorry about the toilet overflowing in the middle of the night. Awful!

Oh my gosh! Blends - I get it now! I've seen that around and had NO idea what that meant. I feel such a sense of relief now that you cleared that up for me. Woo!

What a sucky night. Boo. :(

Ugh - you've had a bad day! Hope it gets lots better, and I hope the goodie thief gets a horrid, itchy rash that won't go away. And chronic, smelly gas.

You know that I've been through this! :( It sucks! Just hope that the person who opened this and stole it knows that Karma's a b*tch!
