Is an orb a spirit? or dust?

Let's switch topics a bit here.

You might think I'm a bit nuts, but I've written a few blog posts about growing up in a "haunted" house, my visit with a medium, and how I, as well as my sisters, and even Luke, have seen spirits.

Well, this weekend we made the trip down to my sister's house, for her daughter's baptism.  It was a lovely weekend, we were all finally in the same place at the same time, which hasn't happened in quite a while.

Here I am with my brother, sister's and our significant others:

And another with my parents, and all the grandchildren, plus one extra party guest:

After looking at all the photos, we noticed a few of them that had "orbs" floating near us. Like this one of me, my sister and our niece:

There is a logical explanation for this, I know that light and dust can affect how a camera takes a picture, and that they can cause orbs to appear in a photo.

But another explanation is that an orb is a photo of a spirit.

This one freaked my sister out, take a look at the orb above my sister in law in the black dress, do you see anything inside it?  Like a face?

Hmmmmmmm.

There is also one on the arm of the man closest to the camera. Very interesting orb though!

I'd like to believe it's more than just light, dust, and camera lens flare. Makes life much more interesting if it is.

Ok--I'm always a bit of a skeptic on this kind of thing, but....

Those on the other side, who love us seem to join us at important occasions. And at not so important occasions. My grandmother, Mimi often tosses bread off of grocery store shelves right in front of me. Once when my sister and I were together at the store she made a bread landslide at a table piled up with bread. She always was impish!

Yes, I remember all of your ghost posts and I get goose bumps every single time I read a new one.

You have a beautiful family Molly.

Congrats on your recent half marathon (of course, I am behind on posts and doing my catch up). Looks like a hilly course, so your time was good!

They already make Katniss dolls? Still haven't seen the movie, but loved all three books.

CRAZY!! So my mom is from syracuse and so I still have a lot of family there. My aunt (moms sister) moved into the house their grew up in with my grandfather. Then he died about 7 years ago and she stayed in the house. I actually lived there after my grandfather died but never saw anything. Now apparently the TV in the kitchen comes on all the time on the highest volume. The anniversary of my grandfathers death was on the 24th and the tv came on all day I guess. Kind of scary but awesome to think that maybes its my grandfather and he is still around watching over my aunt!

This kind of stuff fascinates me SO much. I tend to believe they are spirits.

How crazy. My uncle, who is a very intelligent and sane man, is convinced he saw the ghost in his basement and my mother has felt her deceased parents several times as well. I find it pretty interesting, but I'm a bit suspicious of "Ghost Hunters."

Glad you were able to spend some good time with your family! Looks like a fun group!

Very nice groups. Beautiful pictures for a wonderful meeting.
You won't believe but many pics I took in Scotland and Wales were full of orbs.
