I've been running a 9:30 mile pace on the treadmill, but I went slower today, probably because of the cold and snow, which at times felt like running in sand. Oooooo. It would be nice to run on sand right about now.
It was a pretty uneventful run, until I came up behind an older gentleman, who was walking along, not realizing I was there. I slowed down because I didn't want to scare him, and said I was was on his right. No reaction. Said it again, no reaction, so I figured he was hard of hearing. When he finally saw me, he gave me a smile and a wave, and then kept on jamming to his ipod.
Since Mom is here, I had her take a sweaty post four mile photo of me, along with Frank the Growing Dog. In three weeks he's gained 6 pounds. He keeps falling off the end of the recliner because he's too heavy for it now.
Woof.

yay for running outside!
Woo hoo! Outdoor runs are always great. Way to take advantage of the visiting babysitter, a.k.a. your mom!
totally.
awesome.
yay for mom taking the picture.:)
"My mom is visiting right now, so today I was able to go for a run outside"
You know how funny that sounds???
Nice run
awesome job!
Similar site in Albany but I don't have Yak Trax.
It's so pretty outside in the snow, isn't it? Great that you got to run outside!
Yay for mom visits and runs outside. Frank is too cute!
Yay for outdoor running! I swear I can't take another 'mill run. How does running in the Yak Trax feel?
I'm jealous of your outside run. Everything is just slushy and slippery around here so I think it's still too risky (and dirty!). If they did a better job of cleaning up the roads I'd totally be out there too!
Love both the pictures!
Looks like such a peaceful run! Glad you got out!
Love the pictures! It is snowy out there. It feels like a spring day over here in my neck of the woods.
Cute dog. Is that a lab? How old is he now? Mine's a lab mix and she is 12 weeks old.
Wow! It sure is gorgeous where you live. Is that trail right behind your house? I would love to run there sometime! ;) Enjoy your mom...and Frank.
That trail looks awesome to run on! Yay for getting some fresh air!
Wow... looks like a gorgeous run if that's what you looked at! :)
And that puppy of yours is too much! :)
Picture is gorgeous! Glad you got outside!
YAY for Frank pictures!!! Awesome you got to get outside, doesn't it feel great?? Looks like you have some great places to run too!!
Running outdoors is just the best. I love the photos! Have a great weekend!
Yay for you! Those weekday outdoors runs are such a rare treat. Glad you had one!
What beautiful scenery to run in today! Lucky you! Frank is SOOO STINKIN' CUTE!!! Have fun with your mom - that's special time (at least it is for me!)
What a treat! Mom's are great and can be so helpful in so many ways.
You mentioned sand and it made me remember that a few years ago, while playing football on a snowy field. At halftime, I would just lay down on my back, let the sun glisten down and pretend I was on the beach. It works pretty well!
Great pic, have fun with your growing pup!
Awww, he is so cute! :) And, yes, it would be wonderful to run on sand!
I see you have the ipod too. Running outside is the best. On Tv I saw all the snow there, now the "dreadmill" can be a good option.
All the best to Mr. Frank (I like his black armor).
Great job getting out there.
Running outside is so much better than being indoors. Passing people, especially older ones, while running is not fun at all. Running on sand? That is just awesome.
your blog is inspiring esp for me who doesn't exercise.
Im your latest follower from MBC

Yeah... um... did you say running, or snowmobiling? There is enough snow on that path make snow cones until the end of time.
Hooray for an outdoor run! Though your lane looks like cross country skis would have worked really well, too!
Great picture of you and Frank. Maybe he'll be big enough to run with you come spring.
