Tattoo Number Two?

Tattoo's intrigue me.

Last fall I finally got my first tattoo, to celebrate my marathon, and to just celebrate being me.  Before that, I kept changing my mind over what I wanted to have done, I even went to a tattoo place, but chickened out at the last minute.  And when Luke was born, I realized why people get tat's of their kids names or faces.

I drew the Celtic cross that I had inked on my ankle, although Newt the Tattoo Artist made it look nicer than what I had come up with, and I love it.

But I feel a bit unbalanced.  I've talked to others who also have just one tattoo, and they think the same way.  I kind of need another one, on an opposite body part, to even it out.

My sister came up a few weekends ago, and mentioned she's getting a small musical note on her ankle.  I was so excited, I told her I would get one with her, that afternoon if she wanted (it's a fun bonding experience, I went with my friend Lori when she got one, and my BFF Dawn and I got ours together).  But she already has plans to go with a friend, so no go for me.

I'm thinking of getting another small one, on my right wrist, to balance my left ankle.  If I do it, I'll wait until after I run the NYC Marathon (have you checked out my fundraising page???), and it will be simple.

Some kind of combo of M L E.

The first letters of Mike, Luke and Eliza.

Do you have any tattoos??  What are they?  What do they represent??

Have a great Labor Day Weekend!

It's September.

ACK!

Sorry no tats for me - but I think it sounds fun to have been able to do it with your sister- boo to her for having other plans!

I don't have any tattoos. I've thought about it, but have just decided it's not for me. But I love to see other people's. I think they are cool.

Mine is a dragonfly, they have a short lifespan, and it represents the importance of living life to the fullest.

Ack for September for sure!
Love the MLE idea for your wrist. I am tatless and unless I do an ironman, will remain that way. Ha!

Don't have any although I've thought about it before. My thought is that it shouldn't be anywhere I couldn't hide for a job interview. I thought about getting a small shamrock since St. Patrick is the patron saint of engineers and because it is a symbol of luck (which couldn't we all use a bit of that?). I never really thought about doing anything relating to my kids. I guess I figured I have enough body markings from that adventure. :)

No tats for me only because I can't seem to think of anything I would want. I like the cross you have! My hubby has a superman symbol on his shoulder....it represents being 18 and dumb!

I have three and I totally understand about feeling unbalanced. When I got my first one, I planned on it being the only one, but I kept going back for more. I think I'm done for a while (the tats were all done in my early 20s) but I could see someday commemorating another chapter in my life with ink.
Mine represent my Irish roots, and friendship, love and loyalty.

I have two. The one on my upper back is my favorite. I have the flowers for the birth months for my husband, myself, and my two boys. I have a mum (November for my hubby), two narcissus (December for me and my son), and a rose (June for my other son). I went in with the idea and I fell in love with the design they drew up for me.

I love your Celtic cross. I don't have a tattoo yet but I have an idea for one. I want a bike chain around my ankle and then for each event I do I want a representation of it off the chain. Kind of like a charm bracelet.

Tattoo's are addictive

Christi's idea is gold

I think you should train for a M Dot tattoo

I've also been thinking of getting another. A kinda big one on my shoulder. Like a half sleeve. I feel like i need to talk to Chris about it first though. I would hate to get something that was a turn off or unatractive to him. The three I have I already had before we met so he had no say in those. And he's never mentioned he didn't like them.

I like Christi's idea. Very clever.

I have one on my back - a Celtic Trinity Knot and heart all intertwined. I love it. I've considered getting another on my foot... maybe an abstract swimmer, biker and runner. But we'll see! :)

I have 3 tattoos. I got my first when I was 18, and I still like it, although I probably wouldn't get the same thing now. It's a sun with a symbol inside it on my left shoulder. My second and third tattoos are much more meaningful. The second I got after I passed my PhD candidacy exams, and a friend and I went together. It was a bonding experience, and I still am wowed whenever I catch a glimpse of the crane on my right shoulder blade. Maybe I'll do a post sometime about my ink because I feel like this comment is turning into an essay.

I have four. My first was my name in a nice font on my ankle. I figured I'll have my name for life, so why not? Looks really nice when I get dressed up in heels.

I'm thinking about getting paw prints (two for my Rotts who have passed away from cancer) on my foot so they can continue to run with me.

I have two. The first one I got when I was 18 and has no special meaning and is actually really stupid. It is on the inside of my left ankle. It is Marvin The Martian. Maybe I could add some running shoes to it :)
The second one has much more meaning, it is wings with 26.2 between them on my left hip. Got it after my first marathon. I plan on getting my third one in Hawaii after my third, but not sure of what yet.
Love your idea for your wrist!

No tattoos for me, yet. I've always thought that if I did an Ironman triathlon, I'd get one then. So, most likely I'll never end up with one! But, it seems like most people either have none, or more than one.

I have a Japanese smoke dragon and my name in Japanese on my right leg. I also want to 'even' it out with a tattoo on the left side of my torso. I want to get a phoenix (the dragon and phoenix are like yin and yang).
