what a cheese head

Most times I feel like the weeks go by in a flash, this past week however, was so full that it went by at a snails pace.

My Mom went home yesterday, after she was here for over a week. And we were pretty much home bound the whole time, because of the snow and cold.  Mom was a big help while she was here, and Eliza was her little shadow.  When my Mom says goodbye, she does it way too fast, and I realize now she does it that way so she won't cry.

Anyway, I started the week off with some birthday snowshoeing, I had asked Jeannine if she wanted to go at the nearby nature center, I was in the mood for some cross training.  I woke up in a fog, I had a horrible night's sleep, I got maybe 4 hours, and almost canceled when I saw that the outside temp was zero. However, after some coffee, and getting the kids to school, I was ready to rock.

We did 3.2 miles of trails, here is J checking out the valley view:

Trees, trees, trees.

This week really sucked sleep wise. Today I was trying to remember the last time I had one single night of uninterrupted sleep. Luke has been sick all week with some fever that keeps coming and going, so he was up a lot, Eliza had a couple of nightmares, and even Frank was up for two nights in a row. Besides those valid reasons for being awake, I never, ever sleep for a whole night without waking up. Ever. I've been like this since I was a kid, and I'm tired of it.  It takes me a while to fall asleep, and once I do, I can't stay asleep.  When I was a kid I would sneak into the bathroom to read because I couldn't sleep.  I have a hard time napping too, because I start thinking of everything else I could be doing.  Oh well.  Maybe I'm like Martha Stewart, who claims to only sleep four hours a night. Um.....probably not.

So once again it's Superbowl Weekend.  Since the JETS blew it, I'm hoping Green Bay makes it, and to bring them a bit of luck, I hauled out the Cheese Hat.

And........put it on Frank:

which he then took off with:

I've been looking for new music, I have a couple of itunes gift cards to redeem, I'm open to new music suggestions is you have them.  But I do have a new favorite running song, for your listening pleasure.

Happy Weekend.

Beautiful pictures! Sorry to hear about the sleeplessness - I feel your pain. I hope it gets better and you get a good night in!

I'm still stung over the Jets. But that pic of your doggie with the cheese head is priceless.

I'm not a great sleeper either and it's a bummer. :(

Thanks for posting the song, going to check out the video - I have a few iTunes gift cards too and am always on the hunt for new music!

I'm still wishing the Bears had wanted it as much as I did for them...

But I'll be rooting for the Steelers ;)

Hope you manage to get some sleep soon!

Love the photo of the trees and snow. Frank looks cute with the cheese hat, but I guess he thought it was more of a chew toy. I'm with ya on the interupted sleeping and frustration of it....I haven't slept through the night since I was pregnant with my first son...that was 6 years ago, but my husband sleeps through everything! ugh. I like the song, thanks for sharing, I hadn't heard it before. I'm gonna add it to my playlist!

Frank looks about as interested in Cheeseheads as I am. I knew I liked him!

I'm rooting for the Surf City runners instead.

Beautiful.

I'm a Steelers fan, but if you put a cheese-head on a black lab - heck, that may just be what GB needs!

Love Frank's hat, er, snack! Hope next week is more restful!

I can't nap either. I do the same thing. I think about all the things I should be doing instead of sleeping.

Frank is way cute, especially with the cheese hat. I slept through the entire night last night for the first time in forever and it sounds silly but when I woke up2 minutes before my alarm I was sad that it wasn't the middle of the night like it is when I normally wake up because it meant I didn't have any more time to try to sleep.

Go Packers! I hope this is Aaron Rodgers' year. :D

I'm with you on the sleep. I don't sleep through the night anymore but only in the last ~5 years. Shane was a sick baby so I was up off and on all night either because he was sick or because I worried he was getting sick while I was sleeping - so I had to wake up and check on him just to be sure.

I hope you get better sleep soon!

I work with a bunch of Steeler fans, I'm kinda Superbowl'd out and it hasn't even started! Would make me laugh if GB won and I would just smile nicely at work on Monday.

Sleep? Wait until you turn 40...omg, it doesn't exist!

Happy Weekend girl!! And yeah, I can so relate to your mom...I have a hard time leaving the daughter when she went to college 20 minutes away. ha.

I have no trouble falling asleep. I can fall asleep anywhere at any time in any position. Staying asleep at night, however, is a totally different story.

I'm jealous of your cheese hat! I'm a Packer fan through and through and I don't have one. But, I'll run Sunday's race wearing a Packer jersey.

I always wanted to try snow shoeing and it looks as if we have as much snow as you do. Now about the cheese head Molly-that just won't do because you know that the Steelers are going to win... LOL!

Is there a story behind owning the cheese head?
Pretty pics of the snow!

I never sleep without waking up as well and sleep very little compared to most people. Part of this came from my son who only slept through the first time when he was 3.5. Before that he woke me up at least two times every night for three and a half years. I think I will enjoy snow shoeing.

I used to be a terrible sleeper too, then a couple of years ago, I could suddenly sleep better! I'm not sure what changed. If I knew the secret, I'd tell you!

I'm a terrible sleeper as well- I can't remember the last time I slept through the night. Exercising helps me get to sleep on time but I still wake up at least 2-3 times if not a lot more. I didn't realize there were so may others with this problem until I read the comments on this post. Wow! I'm pretty sure if I moved out of the city, I might sleep better. I like crickets and wind not buses and beeps;)

I definitely know what you mean about those sleepless nights! And Frank totally reminds me of our dogs! They would definitely have that cheese hat slobbered all over within minutes!

I love a good night's sleep. The only downside of being pregnant for me was having to get up and go in the middle of the night. I hear sleeping all night gets harder the older you get so I am enjoying everyone until that happens.

Ha - Frank is too cute! The sleep thing - ugh. I am impossible if I don't get six hours, so I don't know how you do it!

Sorry for the sleeplessness, on the contrary I am a "professional sleeper", I would sleep 12 hours per night if possible!
You are my hero, how can you run with all that snow?
Great hat!

Sorry for your ongoing sleep problems. My wife has sleep issues too. Bought a mattress to help her. Didn't help. And I've never slept better.
Shame, too. With as active as you are, you certainly need quality rest! Cool snowshoeing pics.
And we hopefully have a similar taste in music since you like Eminem. So. Just FYI, I listen to whole albums, and these albums are great, but I noted a song for each.
Kid Cudi - Man on the Moon 2 - Erase Me
Nicki Minaj - Pink Friday - Roman's Revenge
Lil Wayne - I am Not a Human Being -What's Wrong with Them
Hope you don't mind profanity!
