I had a great week fitness wise, which is a good thing because judging by the amount of food in my fridge you would think that more than four people lived in my house.
Three out of my four runs were done outside, and I managed to squeeze in a five miler before Luke's birthday party for his buddies. I was drained after two hours with 14 six year olds, and we didn't even have the party at our house! I managed to do an hour of yoga one day, a bike ride another, and did enough push ups, squats and planks to feel sore. I haven't tried the heart rate monitor on G-Unit yet, but I'm loving how much freer my outdoor runs feel. There are paved trails throughout my development, and it's great to just ramble around knowing I'm still getting my planned mileage in.
Food wise, we still have pizza left from the kid party, TWO cakes (one for the kids, and an ice cream cake that we had to celebrate a second time with the family, after we ate greek food) all the fixings for gyro's, including Mike's homemade tzatziki sauce which has so much garlic that you can smell your own breath after eating it. Mike did the weekly shopping yesterday while Luke and I were at yet another birthday party, so last night we had my favorite grilled veggie salad for dinner. So I'm in leftover heaven.
I didn't make the above Transformers themed birthday cake. But I ate it.

Sounds good to me! I love having leftovers around to get a break from cooking every now and then.
Sounds like a fun and healthy weekend, Molly! All the yummy leftovers are a bonus too. Belated happy birthday to your little guy! :)

happy birthday to Luke!! Great job getting a run in before the party!
Can you share the tzaztiki sauce recipe? I was just thinking Saturday night that I'd love to make my own.
What a great weekend!! Happy Birthday to LUKE!!!
Yum! Good for you for keeping the fitness up. Sometimes I feel like I exercise so I can chow. Happy bday to your sweetie! What are six yr olds into for their bdays (I have one to plan for ... in December!) xo
Sounds like plenty of activity to offset the birthday food to me. I keep trying to get one of the kids interested in an ice cream birthday cake...so far no takers.
Got to love leftovers.............and cake with lots of frosting.......and ice cream cake. I'm on my way now.
Oh my gosh, with all that food, you'd better keep running, huh?
Hi Molly,
Wowzer there Lady! You hosted a b-day party with 14 six year olds!?! God, I hope that you had help because that sounds scary to me:) Cute cake!
It sounds like this was good for runs and workouts:) Keep it up Molly!
That cake looks lovely! Happy birthday to Luke! You had a very busy time. Good to hear a lot of running between everything.
That is one cool cake! Chasing after kids a t a party counts for a crosstraining workout.
Holy crap. Waht a busy week! You can always tell when your training is kicked up a knotch by the amount of food in the house :)!
I'm hungry. I read this, didn't comment, but ran to fridge instead. Nothing nearly that good. Is it possible for me to smell the garlic here, too?
Happy belated birthday to Luke. The cake looks fabulous!
Really, I want to try the grilled vegetable salad...once I get the gyros out of my mind.
Very cute cake! I would eat it, too.
14 six-year-olds? You rock!
