Spring is Flinging

I woke up this morning, and even before I got out of bed, I had a feeling in my bones that spring is on it's way. Or it could just be that the sun was shining. Whatever it is, I like it.

Yesterday was lovely as well, and I made it outside for a 4.5 mile run in my new Nike's. I feel good in them, my toes are happy with all the room they have to stretch out, and I'm not striking with my heel as much as I do in my Asics. So far so good! After that I made my Aunt Linda's famous Irish Soda Bread, sorry to say I can't share that recipe, but I added a photo to drool over.

Today was a good mail day, my friend Jennifer lent me her Nike plus ipod, which makes me want to run right out the door to try it out. I'm listening to it now, and having flashbacks to high school and college days, because of the Nine Inch Nails (who I love), among other things. It's going to be fun to run to someone else's music!

I need a new book to read, I finished John Krakauer's Where Men Win Glory. I had a hard time falling asleep last night because I kept thinking about it. It's primarily about Pat Tillman and the cover up of the details of his death, along with the history of the Taliban and the War on Terror. I was living in NY during 9/11, so this book definitely touched a nerve. So now I think some Chick Lit might be in order.

I just realized Daylight Savings Time is this Sunday.....whoo hoo!

I do the same thing you do. I tend to go from one type of book to a different kind just to shake it all up. Hey, I love NIN too!!!!

I LOVE Irish Soda Bread and picked up a loaf at Whole Foods. I'll have to check out your recipe to see if it's something I might be able to handle!

That's cool that you're borrowing your friends iPod and switching up your music! Never thought about trading iPods! Fun!

I love all the Sophie Kinsella books for great chick lit. Definitely my guilty pleasure reads!

Hi Molly,
Oh my gosh, it is so funny that you would post about Irish Soda Bread today! I was just on recipes.com and saw that they were featuring it! I was thinking that it would taste so good right about now! By the way...yours looks better than the one on their web page:) I am glad to hear that the Nike shoes are working out for you! Happy feet=Happy Molly:)

Nice run--bring on spring!

I have read John K.'s other books. I agree with Lisa that Sophie Kinsella is a good chick lit author. I just read the newest by Marian Keyes and was not terribly excited.

Yummm...that bread looks so good. Enjoy the weather! I "ran" the boys today over by the golf course...one of the best afternoons/evenings we've had in a long time.

When I want to switch up music, I run with my wife's iPod. That is a trip. After the first time, I told her I felt like I had gone to a 80s gay disco after listening to her music. So I only do it when I forget mine. She actually created a special playlist just for me. Awww, thanks Hun.

So I just found out last week that my husband loves Irish Soda Bread! who knew. I'm gonna try to make some.

I just finished reading The Lovely Bones and it was good. Finished it in less than 24 hours. I cried a couple of times, but it's not as intense as the one you were reading. Have you read it? I've been checking books out at the library. So far all the 'good ones' I'm waitlisted for. Usually I go to the B&N website and find books I might like then find them at the library. I just recently remembered how much I LOVE to read.

Mmm, that bread looks fantastic! I understand about secret family recipes ... though I seem to be giving all of mine away! LOL

Sounds like you do need a light read after that ... no wonder it kept you awake. :(
