I didn't make it into the NYC Marathon this year. Bummer. My friend Jennifer didn't make it either, double bummer. Going home to do my first marathon would have been fantastic, but like they say, better luck next year.
So that means the MVP Rochester Marathon is going on the calendar! I ran the half marathon last year, and it's a fairly flat course, and since I lived there for five years, I would love to run through my old stomping grounds in a marathon.
Barefoot Angie Bee has a Nuun giveaway going on, and she gives you five extra entries if you write a poem, so this is what I came up with:
I love how running makes me fly,
Although at times it makes me cry.
In sun or snow, and sometimes rain,
I always look for a chance to get out there again.

Its always great going back home to race.
Nice poetry. I'm suffering from creative block apparently.
Bummer about NYC--maybe I'll get my ass in the lottery for next year. Either that or sprout wings to auto qualify.
love the poem! :-) congrats on making your decision for the 26.2 (or NY for making it for you!).
Well I am sorry that you didn't get into NYC but I think really will really enjoy the Rochester marathon as long as it isnt super hot like it was two years ago!
Sorry you did not get in! There is always next year :)
Sorry about NY, but I'm so glad that you have a full marathon on your calendar! Can't wait to see you train for your first girl!!
Sorry you didn't get in! I don't know anyone who got in. You'll enjoy the Rochester marathon!
Sorry to hear about NYC, but maybe you and your friend can both try again next year and get in together. When is Rochester??
Love the poem...Great job!
Oh and sorry that NYC didn't work out but the marathon your doing sounds like fun.
I'll be in Rochester too. Good luck!
Can you tell me more about the Rochester Marathon? I am looking for a fall marathon. IS it scenic? Fun? Flat?
Sorry about the marathon disappointment... But think how ready you will be next year! (Btw, cute poem!
Hi Molly,
Sorry about not getting into the NYC marathon. It sounds like Rochester is a solid second choice:) I like your poetry! Molly, I hope that you have an excellent day!
Bummer about NYC. Rochester sounds good too! Your a good little poet :)
Sorry you didn't make it into the NY Marathon, but it sounds like you have a great plan! The somewhat flat course may be nice, too. I really didn't like how the NYC course finishes with an incline! Doesn't matter how many times you run that hill, it SUCKS at 26 miles! ;) Have fun training, can't wait to read about it!
Sorry you didn't get into NY Marathon. Rochester sounds great. When is it?
You never did send me your address so I could send you a little something for posting a poem for the giveaway!

I will get something out in the next day or two. I have a couple other people to send out to as well so you have time!
