It was a fluke that we had the news on one night, and caught the end of a segment about a local charity that works with various animal organizations. I went online and found it, clicked through a few websites, and all of a sudden, there he was.
We were able to name him Frank, he came from a shelter down south, where puppies only get about five days to be adopted, otherwise they are put down. The organization we worked with rescues dogs from all over the country, even Mexico. Once I put in the application, then met him, things moved quickly. I was racing around PetSmart on Tuesday, buying everything Frank would need. I kind of had an idea of how parents who are adopting a child feel, all of a sudden you get a phone call, and you're off!
We're really lucky to have Frank, and I hope he loves us as much as we're going to love him.
Ohhhh myyy goodnesss!!!! I just melted in my chair, he is so adorable!!!!
ReplyDeleteomg, Molly, this made me tear up. He looks SO MUCH like my Lucy did when she was that age. (We said the final goodbye last year on Memorial Day weekend.) Down to the single white strip on his chest.

ReplyDeleteAww! Very cute! We are thinking about getting a friend for our dog and will definitely be going the shelter route. Our local one does a foster program for the holidays so we might take one to see if it's a good match for our current (lonely) puppy.
ReplyDeleteOH MY GOODNESS! What a cutie! Glad I don't live near you... I might doggienap him! :)
ReplyDeleteThat's awesome!
ReplyDeleteMy wife has been volunteering for a couple of years at a local shelter, and she would have brought home at least a dozen dogs by now if we could afford them. It's so nice to open the door after a day at work and have someone who is so excited to see that you're home.
Awwww, he's so sweet!!! Totally makes me want another doggie!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on your new addition. :)

Molly, God bless your heart for adopting this adorable pooch! Soooo cute! I am a dog-lover (I own 5), you see and I have very high respect for people who decide to adopt dogs. Have fun! If you have any questions, feel free to ask me. I used to own a pet shop and grooming salon back in our country. hehe ;p
