2. I had a semi-panic attack on Tuesday, because I couldn't get G-unit to turn on. It just had a blank screen, wouldn't turn on when in the charger, or plugged into my laptop. The Garmin website was useless, so I did what any normal person would do, and googled it, and found the answer in....a blog of course! If it ever happens, just hold down the reset, mode, and on/off buttons at the same time. Success!
3. I can't get over the sad story of Sally Meyerhoff, the marathon runner who was killed this week in an accident while riding her bike. I read her last blog post, and it was eerie how she wrote about how happy she was with her life, and listed some of her favorite quotes. It's just so tragic.
4. There's a group of us doing my weight loss challenge (you know who you are). Every Wednesday I'll post my progress, so comment and let me know how you're doing.
5. Before I started the challenge, last week I had one of these...I honestly have one milkshake a year, and this is it:
Shamrock Shake! I was a little thrown off by the addition of whipped cream, but When In Rome!
6. I've been making a ton of roasted veggies this week, in the hope that it will trick spring into coming, and I'll have to begin grilling the veggies instead.
7. Mountain Goat 10 miler training officially starts Monday, I think I'm going to follow the Intermediate Program, for those who run 8-9 minute miles. I can dream right?
8. I was in the library with E the other day, and it struck me how these days with my little one have a definite end day looming. I have to sign her up for kindergarten next week, which is giving me mixed emotions.
9. I love leaving said library with so many new, great books, that you have to read three of them at a time.
10. don't wear Birkenstocks in slushy snow. Just don't do it. And remember to wear underwear under your loose pajama bottoms when taking out the garbage. Just do it.
11. Survivor is boring me this season, and weeks ago, I predicted how Michael is going to leave The Office, so we'll see how it turns out.
12. Daylight Savings is this weekend!!!! I think I just heard a collective sigh of relief.
: )
- 11 weeks to get to our goal weight, I am in like flynn
ReplyDelete- My girl loves shamrock shakes, she was just telling me she cant wait to get hers
- indeed it is sad about Ms Meyerhoff
This is making me want a shake, which would not help with this weight loss challenge. :-)
ReplyDeleteAnd The Office will not be the same when Michael leaves.
Oh man, haven't had one of those shakes in years...sounds so good!
ReplyDeleteSally Meyerhoff's story is indeed sad. Ironically I just picked up Outside magazine yesterday that had a big article about how dangerous it is becoming all over the U.S. for cycling.
My youngest is in kindergarten and while we were both ready for it, I still get sad sometimes. It really does go SO fast.
Without Michael, there is not office!!!
ReplyDeleteSally's story is so sad.
I hadn't heard about the Sally Meyerhoff story...so sad!
ReplyDeleteI love making roasted veggies! I have been making them and then putting them with hummus in a wrap. Yum-o!
Hooray for #1 ~ a full night of uninterrupted sleep is so lovely!! I'm loving how many more of them I'm getting now that the kids are older.
ReplyDeleteSleep is awesome..... and an uninterrupted night is even better! The Sally story is so sad. We had a runner here in town struck by a car and killed a few weeks ago... so sad when things like that happen. I'm so ready for spring!
ReplyDeleteI was very sad to hear about Sally. Good luck with the weight loss effort. I am starting my own personal challenge, yet again!
ReplyDeleteI need to join your weightloss thing. Need to.
ReplyDeleteCan you believe daylight already?? That totally snuck up....plus it's early this year right?
I agree Sally's blog post was eerie...so sad.
Is it completely tragic that I have never tried a Shamrock Shake??
ReplyDeleteI just found Sally's blog and was looking at it. Wow.... that's crazy. She also talked about how life is short and you don't know how much time you have on 2/3... So awful :(
I've had the same issue with my Garmin and the same end result. Thank goodness for other bloggers!
ReplyDelete2 - That happened to me once a few months ago and it was so ironic because I had JUST like a week prior read a post by SUAR about it happening to her and what to do.
ReplyDelete10 - HA!!!
11 - What's your theory? My husband has one too.
Yeah!! I love daylight savings time...can't wait!
ReplyDeleteMe too on the weightloss thing..
ReplyDeleteI was excited for DLS except on Sunday we start running @ 7am...which really means 6am. Oooff.
Shamrock Shakes!!! I love those dumb things, but the whipped cream...nope.
ReplyDeleteI'm looking forward to DST too!
I need a shamrock shake! And I have a coupon for McDonalds!! I know where I am going this weekend after my race! i can't wait for daylight savings time! Its going to make running after work so much easier!
ReplyDeleteI'm so intrigued by those milk shakes. People around me act like they are gold, yet I've never had one. Should I indulge???
ReplyDeleteI'm kind of bored with Survivor too. I couldn't stand Russel so it was nice to see him go. But everyone else just gets along too well. We need some drama!!!
Roasted veggies! Grilled veggies! I need to fire up the grill very soon!
ReplyDeleteAren't you the over achiever - 12 things Thursday! I want one of those shamrock shakes! I'm going to go check that blog out. It sounds tragic.
ReplyDeleteYum on the shamrock shake - passing on it this year, though! Going to lose some weight with you!!
ReplyDeleteYou make me want one of those damn shakes. Are they really good?
ReplyDeleteI love #11 about the underwear under your pajama bottoms...so true. I take my son to the bus stop every morning some days with and some days without. I don't really think about it till I get outside and feel so "free".
ReplyDeleteI agree about Survivor. Trying to decide if I should keep going. The ex FBI agent is driving me insane. He might just be the most annoying guy they have had all season.
I soooo need a milkshake right now!
ReplyDeleteYea, what's with the whipped cream? We had one last weekend too-oh so good!
ReplyDeleteOoh, good luck with your weight loss challenge!
ReplyDeleteOK, I've heard way too many people talking about this shake.....must try.
ReplyDeleteI read that about on RW about her getting hit by a bike, so very sad. She was so young!!
Catching up on your posts, just wanted to tell you congrats on your PR (two posts ago)! And love the pic, but why didn't they have green beer!?!
So excited for daylight savings. We need it over here. Badly! The office wont be the same. Survivor is my all time favorite, but I HATE when they bring people back to play. Annoying. Of all the thousands of people who are dying for the chance and you bring back two douchebags that have had two and three chances already. They had their shot. Get out!
ReplyDeleteThe Shamrock Shake! that brings back memories, I haven't had one of those in so long!!
ReplyDeleteHi Molly! How have I not followed your blog till now?!?! Thanks for stoping by to say hi!! Yay!!
ReplyDeleteI will have to check out your weight loss posts on Wednesdays--I could use a push for those last lbs!
Craving a Shamrock shake now!!
I wish I knew your Garmin trick last week... mine did the same thing RIGHT BEFORE A RACE! Ugh. Oh well. Sometimes it's best to go by feel anyway. As for the news about Sally, so sad. I definitely have her family & friends in my thoughts.
ReplyDeleteA few weeks ago the top woman South African cyclist was killed when she was hit by a truck. Really sad when these things happen. I'm a milkshake junkie!
ReplyDeleteshammrock shakes are my favorite!!!!
ReplyDeleteI had a shake & burger (W/bacon) after my long run today. The craven was too great.
ReplyDeleteI lived in VT for 19 years (now in GA), and understand, but it was 80 deg today.
A good night's sleep is always a wonderful thing! I've been waking up a lot lately and could use a full night of rest.
ReplyDeleteIt is so sad about Sally Meyerhoff. It's a reminder of the need to be aware of our surroundings, especially when driving. Her enthusiasm and love for running are really inspiring.
That looks like one fancy Shamrock Shake!
Number 10 made me laugh. I'll keep that advice in mind.
Congrats for the Tipperary Hill 4 mile (and the great PR), the virtual 5 km on the treadmill and for the entire night without waking up.
ReplyDeleteJust getting caught up on blogs, and....
ReplyDeleteThanks for the Garmin tip! That has happened to me a few times, but in my rush to get out the door, I never figured out how to fix the problem as it always seemed to fix itself by the next time I tried to use it.
I had my yearly shake today too! No whipped cream in these parts.
